Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Meaning Vault uses cookies and similar technologies on https://meaningvault.com.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to remember information about your visit. We also use local storage and similar technologies.

What we use

A. Strictly necessary (always on)

  • Session/security cookies and nonces required to operate forms, protect against CSRF/abuse, and remember minimal preferences (e.g., step state for submissions).

B. Performance/analytics (optional)

  • If enabled in the future (e.g., privacy-friendly analytics), these help us understand aggregate usage without identifying you. We’ll update this Policy and, where required, provide consent controls.

C. Functionality (optional)

  • If we add features like saved drafts or preferences, additional cookies/local storage may be used to remember your settings.

D. Analytics

We use privacy-preserving, first-party analytics (Schemattic 3) to measure aggregate usage of the Site. These analytics do not store IP addresses or other personal identifiers and are not used for advertising.

Implementation:

  • In our current configuration, analytics are Cookieless:
  • Collected attributes may include page URL, referrer, timestamp, screen size, and user agent.
  • Data are kept only in aggregate form for 12 months.

You can use your browser settings to block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect form steps and uploads. Blocking analytics cookies (if any are used) will not break core site features.

E. Functionality

We use a small amount of functional storage for the “Meaning Vault Sensory House” quiz:

  • Purpose: remember your quiz house result so the slide-out can personalize the experience.
  • Data stored: a short code/value for your selected house only (no name, email, IP, or identifier).
  • Storage types:
    • Session cookie (clears at the end of the browser session)
    • localStorage (persists until you clear site data)
  • Use limits: not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling; not combined with Field Notes submissions.

We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising or sale/sharing of personal information.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you control or block cookies. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Site (including the submissions form and uploads) may not work.

You can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking strictly-necessary/functional storage may affect the quiz slide-out and submissions flow.

Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our use of cookies or legal requirements.
